What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural compound occurring in cannabis plant resinous flower. The plants is well known for its medicinal purposes for many years. The CBD therapeutic properties have been tested and credited scientifically by doctors all over the world. CBD is a safe and non-addictive substance with numerous medicinal properties such as the treatment of anxiety, depression, and fear. How does CBD Function?

The CBD functions by active interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) which compromises of a regulatory system and made up of natural cannabis-like molecules. The natural endocannabinoids found in the body are what is known as the work like neurotransmitters that shuts messages all over the body thus maintaining homeostasis. Two types of receptors are used to make interactions together with the endocannabinoid system receptors known as the CB1 and CB2.

CB1 is mainly found in the brain cells and mostly present in the motor skills, pain, and cognition but also they are also found in the nervous system, thyroids glands, uterus and more. Once an individual takes in CBD the, it then attaches itself to the receptors which in turn inhibits the release of the neurotransmitters and at the same time increasing the release of other neurotransmitters thus altering the normal functioning of the brain cells.
